To match the long-standing exteriors and historic farm environment, the en-suite bedrooms and sitting rooms have been carefully decorated and furnished with period antiques resurrected from the farm’s great attics.
Breakfast is included, with dinner available as an optional add-on. Dinner with the owner in his private dining room is considered a highlight – a multi-course, candlelit, communal experience. The original bakery is now the ‘Turn & Slip’ pub, dedicated to Julian’s passion for flying.
Please note: The farm offers an authentic, historic experience and rooms are not equipped with television or air-conditioning. It is a working farm, so guests should expect an active, rustic, agricultural setting with animals like sheep, horses, pigs, and ducks.
Activities include swimming and boating on the Berg River, long walks along farm roads, and enjoying the farm environment.

Kersefontein might not be for everyone but it was certainly perfect for us. Julian is a most amusing host and the relaxed atmosphere of the property belies the attention to detail behind the scenes. The rooms are pretty and clean, mosquito nets and beds turned down at bedtime, excellent food in the beautiful old Cape Dutch Farmhouse and a lovely breakfast in the charmingly decorated breakfast room.
